Cold-air diffusers benefit from placement near, but not directly under, an HVAC vent, where existing airflow assists distribution without overwhelming it.

The intensity question applies across all formats. More output is not the goal; a balanced, consistent atmosphere is. Oversaturation is the most common mistake across every format, and it is far easier to avoid on a device with adjustable, programmable intensity than on one with a single output setting.
